Even after years of going to masses every day, studying the scriptures, having a devotion to the Blessed Mother and performing other pious deeds, have we become fully certain of our faith in God? Have we attained a full grasp of Christ’s message in our life?
We still seem to be beginners who barely scratched the surface of our faith. The honesty to admit uncertainties, doubts and question in our faith is a blessing indeed. To confess that we do not have all the answers to our questions of faith may lead us to Jesus to seek His help. But if you think you have all the answers in life, it may be tempting to remain only to yourself. More so, you may lead people to yourself instead of leading them to Jesus. After all, you have all the answers to their questions. Why bother to bring them to Jesus? Such pride may lead us to become deaf to the words of Christ and be resistant to His power and will. Satan, the origin of pride, may possess us. As one becomes deaf, he too becomes dumb. One may begin to preach his own words and his own message and not that of God’s. What good is that for the growth of faith when God's words alone can fertilize our little faith!?
We have always been near to Jesus, but nearness to Jesus does not assure us of full knowledge of Him. The Pharisees and His disciples were always near to Him but still lacked the faith in Him. Our faith may be strengthened by constantly begging Christ to help our little faith. Thus, we beg God to nurture our faith in Him so that we may behold God's wisdom around us. God can begin to work on that little faith if we acknowledge the littleness of our faith and ask Him: Lord, I do believe but help the little faith I have.
Be liberated by Christ from Satan's possession by asking Jesus to increase the little faith we have, to remove useless doubts and uncertainties in our lives and to fully trust God and not ourselves. Thus, in the end, we may behold God's wisdom present around us: Behold the Lord as king, robed in majesty.
